I’ve got a whole load of Christmas sketches that are ready to be made into embroidery patterns. Just have to find the time to make all of them. This Christmas deer embroidery pattern got priority this year because he’s just soooo cute! He’s got a nice floral Christmas wreath around him, and I love the way he turned out.
To embroider this free Christmas deer embroidery pattern, you’ll need:
- free Christmas deer embroidery pattern (instructions to download are at the bottom of this post)
- 6 inch embroidery hoop
- white fabric
- embroidery floss (Colors listed on the pattern.)
- embroidery needle
- transfer materials (I used FriXion pens. Take a look at some other methods on my How to Transfer and Embroidery Pattern post.)
If this pattern looks familiar, it’s because I based it off my floral unicorn embroidery pattern. Same concept, different animal.
It’s still got the great woven wheel flowers, but I changed it up and included some poinsettias. Perfect for a Christmas embroidery pattern. And then, of course, some little holly leaves and French knot berries.
The deer is made using a split stitch. Make sure you get your stitches really small around those curves.
I love the way the colors look together. A little bit of a non-traditional color palette with the pink and mint thrown in, but it works!
I hope you love this little deer as much as I do. He would also look cute with a little red nose to make him into Rudolph!
