Top 10 Posts of 2013

Ok, everyone else was doing it.  I couldn’t resist!  I had 115 posts this year, which was a new record for me (I guess this will make it 116).  What were my top 10 most visited posts of 2013?  Keep reading to find out!

#10 – Pony Bead Indian Corn – This project was riding the momentum from my pony bead pumpkin success that you will find also made it into the top 10.  My kids had a great time with these pony bead projects, and it looks like yours did too!

#9 – Embroidery Hoop Art – I really loved this project, and I’m so glad you did too!  I have plans floating around in my head for a few other themes.  I also had a crazy idea to write an eBook or something with all of them published in it.  Seeing how much you all liked this gives me even more encouragement.

#8 – Family Tree Art – I think this is one of my favorite projects of all time.  A lot of you used the tutorial to make Christmas gifts.  I’m so glad you all liked it and got my template to work!

#7 – Felt Hot Air Balloons – These look so pretty hanging in the girls’ room!  This one was a surprise for me to find in my top 10.  I didn’t know how popular it was this year.  I guess you all love anything to do with felt!

#6 – Big Kid Superhero Mask Patterns – Anything to do with superheroes automatically makes it into the top 10 thanks to the success from my felt superhero mask post from 2012.  Looks like we have a lot of grownups who like to be superheroes too!

#5 – Felt Deer and Fox Christmas Ornaments – This was part of my 12 days of Handmade Christmas Ornaments series that I JUST did!  Surprising that everyone liked it enough to make it into the top 10 in such a short amount of time!  Yay!

#4 – How to Cut Felt with Your Silhouette – Guess everyone wanted to know if the Silhouette really could cut felt!  My horrible quality Youtube video is doing pretty well.  Guess it’s more about the good content then the quality.  The 5 “thumbs down” from the haters out there make me want to cry a little inside, but 72 “thumbs up” make me feel a lot better. 😉

#3 – How to Stiffen Felt – Another felt post!  Guess there is a reason my friend nicknamed me “the felt lady”.  You know how much I love it!

#2 – Pony Bead Pumpkins – My pony bead pumpkins were a huge success this year!  They even made it into my top posts of all time!  My little Leah had a great time smashing them every time she could get her hot little hands on them.  Good thing pipe cleaners are flexible!

#1 – Appliqued Superhero Capes – Again, anything to do with superhero dress up is big around here.  This was my top post of 2013!  Maybe I should do more superhero posts since you all seem to like them so much.

And just for fun, here are a few of my personal favorite posts from this year that didn’t make the top 10 cut.  In no particular order…

DIY Supportive Swimwear – I’m so glad I finally did this, and I’m so glad I don’t have to go swimsuit shopping this coming year!  I thought it was worth showing off again, just in case any of you fellow “busty girls” missed it.

Papa’s Bird Ornament – This was also a popular one in my ornament series this year.  I really loved writing a little tribute to my Papa, and my family loved getting them for Christmas.

Vinyl Rock Garden Markers – These are still looking great in my garden!  I love how they turned out, and I’m excited to use them again in 2014.

Picnic Quilt – I’m loving this quilt that I made from old jeans and fabric scraps!  We keep it rolled up in the back of the car and use it when we need to sit on the ground.  The carrying strap makes it perfect for picnics, and using up a huge pile of old jeans was also a big plus!

Peach Crisp – My blog is more about the crafts than the recipes, but if you haven’t tried this peach crisp recipe yet, you totally should.  Hurry up and make it before your New Year’s diet starts.  It’s my favorite dessert ever!

There you have it!  Looks like a win for felt and superheroes.  No wonder since my top post of all time is for felt superhero masks.  What was your favorite post this year?  I always love to hear from you!  Happy New Year everyone!
