Neighbor Gift Idea - Tim Tam Gift Tags

Every Christmas, I overestimate how much time I have to get everything done. To simplify things this year, I decided to go with store-bought neighbor gifts instead of something homemade. So today, I’ve got a great last minute neighbor that won’t take up much of your time and is fairly inexpensive. I created these cute Tim Tam slam gift tags to add to packages of Tim Tam cookies and hot cocoa. So not only will you be sharing a treat, but a whole (hopefully new) experience with your neighbors and friends. If you’re reading the title of this post and wondering, “What the heck is a Tim Tam slam?!” then you’ll want to keep going. Let me introduce you to one of our favorite new Christmas traditions, the Tim Tam SLAM!

What is a Tim Tam?

A Tim Tam is chocolate biscuit or cookie from Australia. It’s made of two biscuits (cookies), with a cream filling, covered in a chocolate coating. Yummy by themselves, but extra delicious when eaten with a hot drink.

Where can I buy Tim Tams in the United States?

Here in the states, I’ve only been able to buy them at World Market, which is fine with me since I love browsing around there. The lady at the store was super intrigued when she saw us buying so many packages of them for neighbor gifts. Even she didn’t know about the Tim Tam slam! I feel a need to spread the word. You can also purchase them online from Amazon.

How to do a Tim Tam SLAM

Make a warm beverage of your choice (hot cocoa, coffee, tea, warm milk, etc.) Be sure it’s not too hot! You need to be able to comfortably drink it.
Take two small bites out of the opposite corners of a Tim Tam.
Place one bitten corner of your Tim Tam into your hot cocoa and suck the cocoa through the other bitten end like a straw.
As soon as you get a little cocoa through the other end, slam the Tim Tam into your mouth for a delicious, gooey treat! Don’t wait too long, or it will start to fall apart.
