Easy Superhero Capes

June 9, 2011

Hello craft world!  I am back.  Finally feeling a bit inspired again.  Here is a little something that got me in the mood to sew.  Easy Superhero Capes!

One of my kid’s favorite things to do is “fly” around the house.  Blankets tied around their necks wasn’t cutting it anymore, so I took the leftover fabric from the traffic signs and made these.  Nothing too complicated, and I didn’t measure a thing.  Great thing about kids is that they don’t care if things are even.

Easy Superhero Capes

I wanted to keep it simple, so I just took a “squarish” piece of fabric and cut it like the diagram below.  Hem all the sides, add some velcro, and you are done.

Here is Audrey’s cape all finished.

Best part is that Audrey, who isn’t even two yet, runs around the house saying, “Super Audrey to the rescue!”  Awesome!

Bet they just LOVE wearing them! Super cute! Did you just decide to whip them up one evening? I love a fast project, but a delightful fun one too!
