If your kids love Perler beads, but their attention spans are short, try out these small perler bead patterns. They are the perfect quick project, with each one only taking a few minutes to make. They don’t use that many beads either, so perfect for when you’re running short.

To make theses easy mini perler bead patterns, you’ll need:
- small perler bead patterns (click the link at the bottom of this post to get them)
- perler beads – We have this big bucket of beads.
- perler bead tray – You’ll need a square like this one.
There’s a perler bead butterfly, ladybug, and bumblebee.
This one looks like a bunny right? My kid requested a tiny bunny that looks like one of their rabbits, Cocoa. I kinda want to glue a white pom pom on for the tail. Wouldn’t that be cute?! I might need to have the kids make a bunch of these as an Easter craft.
My favorite of all has to be the mini unicorn perler bead patterns. Aren’t they adorable?! My daughter said they remind her of the movie Tangled, when one of the strong men in the bar sings about collecting tiny ceramic unicorns. Haha!
I also made a tiny duck and flamingo. The perler bead flamingo is a new favorite as well.

FAQs for Perler Bead Patterns
You can make coasters, magnets, ornaments, decorations and even jewelry with perler beads.
Use parchment paper for Perler beads. Wax paper is waxy on one side and will melt to your beads or iron.
There are several sites online that you can use to convert a picture into a perler bead pattern. Pixel-Beads is a pretty user-friendly one.
There are probably other sites specifically for making perler bead patterns, but I actually like to use a cross-stitch pattern making site called Stitch Fiddle.
If you are using a clear pegboard, you can put it over the pattern. Match the colored beads with the beads on the pattern. If your peg board is not clear, or the pattern isn’t the right size, just look at the photo and copy what the pattern shows onto your board.
You can find perler beads at your local craft store or even sometimes Walmart and Target. I like to buy this bucket from Amazon for my kids.
