Dining Table and Chairs Makeover

I am so excited to show off what I have been working on!  It took FOREVER, but I finally finished sanding, painting, and covering a dining set that we got a few months ago.  Here is a wonderful before photo of the lovely peeling paint and the outdated blue fabric.  Hey, it was free!  Of course my husband thought I was insane for wanting to sand it and paint it white again, and thought the fabric was just fine.  Silly men!  He likened it to women that shave their eyebrows off and then draw them back on.  Ha ha!

He now admits that it looks much much better!

I think changing out the fabric really made the biggest difference.

I used an indoor/outdoor fabric so it would be better at repelling stains.  I even tested it by rubbing some of my chocolate birthday cake on a swatch.  Came right out with a little water.  This is Waverly’s Sun N Shade, Lovely Lattice Lagoon.

And here is a before of the top.

And the nice, smooth after.

To paint the table, I used a tutorial on Centsational Girl  found here.  She does a really great job explaining what she used and how to paint it.  I used the same paint and everything for the chairs as well.  FYI, I really wish that I would have bought the spray primer that she uses.  It would have saved a lot of time, especially on the chairs.  They were a pain!

And just for fun, here she is again.  Look at what I did!!! 🙂

Stay tuned for some other craigslist finds that I plan on painting!

Just finished making your superhero masks for my almost 5 year old and saw your reference to princess crowns. So glad I came back to look! These are adorable! Thank you for making these patterns available!
